Vocational College of Banking, Insurance and Law Including a Vocational Grammar School (Berufliches Gymnasium)
In the heart of St. Pauli
The Vocational College BERUFLICHE SCHULE St. Pauli …
.. is located in the heart of Hamburg. It provides training for future bankers, insurance and finance clerks, as well as employees in legal professions. The vocational upper secondary school with a focus on economics leads to the general university entrance qualification (Abitur) within three years, granting access to all degree programs at any university. Our wide range of programs is further complemented by the vocational preparation school.
You can find all relevant information about our school in our current digital brochure. A distinctive feature of our school — and unique in Hamburg — is the bilingual instruction. Students have the opportunity to take Business Administration and Economics in English and even choose these subjects as part of their final exams (Abitur).

Individual Mentoring…
for a successful future. We understand that our students come to us with diverse backgrounds and varying learning needs. That’s why, from the very beginning, we place the individual at the center of everything we do. Our goal is to equip all students with the skills and competencies necessary for a successful professional future, while addressing each person’s specific needs.
When needed, all students at our school have access to support from well-trained learning coaches and guidance counselors, who provide assistance with exam anxiety, conflict resolution, and much more. This is further complemented by personalized learning support.
Digitalization at the BS11
At the BS11, we firmly believe that working with digital media is no longer the exception but the rule. We respond to the rapid changes in business, society, and education with state-of-the-art technical equipment.
All classrooms are equipped with digital whiteboards (so-called smartboards), and every room has wireless internet access. Our students and teachers store and manage their data in the school’s own cloud system, which is accessible from home via the internet.
Spacious computer labs are available for specialized IT classes. In addition, the school uses its own iPads and notebooks during lessons. The multimedia offering is rounded off by a podcast studio that allows for productions in studio quality. We are currently in the process of setting up a Moodle Learning Management System.
