With the KMK Foreign Language Certificate …

Exam Components
Mediation = 30 points
You convey content and information appropriately and accurately either from English into German (at B1 level) or from German into English (at B2 or C1 level), depending on the certificate level.
Production = 30 points
You create a written text in a professional and context-appropriate format – for example, a flyer, email, or the outline of a conference.
Reception = 40 points
You demonstrate listening and reading comprehension skills (20 points each).
Interaction = 30 points
After 20–25 minutes of preparation, you engage in a structured dialogue with a partner – for example, a conversation with colleagues or business partners.
