Media Centre

The media centre is a unique facility at our school. It is designed to support students in working independently, preparing for exams, and providing a dedicated space for those who do not have access to a personal computer or the necessary software at home to engage with school-related topics outside regular lessons. A printer is available for students to use exclusively for academic purposes.

Die The media centre is divided into two main areas: a spacious open section equipped with tables, study alcoves, and seating areas for group work or tutoring sessions, and a designated silent study zone where students can research, learn, and work individually. Silence is strictly observed in this area.

Available Media Resources

The collection is still in development, meaning not all planned resources are currently available. Presently, students can access:

  • Books, encyclopaedias, and reference works
  • Study materials and textbooks particularly suited for self-directed learning
  • Newspapers (currently available: Hamburger Abendblatt and Handelsblatt as reading copies)

Planned future resources include:

  • Digital materials that cannot be provided via the internet due to software or licensing requirements
  • A curated catalogue of educational materials on school-related topics, accessible online.

The media centre is open to all students and teachers of BS11 and the Stadtteilschule am Hafen during regular school hours. To ensure the media centre remains a welcoming and effective space for all users, we kindly ask that the following rules be observed:
