Business Administration with Accounting

Would you like to understand how businesses operate?nternehmen arbeiten?

That’s exactly what you’ll learn in Business Administration!

Broaden your economic education and benefit from it throughout your personal and professional life. Regardless of the career path you choose, a solid understanding of economic principles is now considered part of general knowledge. It provides a crucial foundation—not only to navigate the professional world with confidence, but also to better comprehend and evaluate economic developments in Germany and around the globe.

What exactly will you learn?

In the introductory phase, you will gain an overview of fundamental business structures and processes. This knowledge forms the basis for the qualification phase, where you will explore key topics in greater depth.

In the introductory phase, you will explore questions such as:

  • How do processes within a company work?
  • What goals do companies pursue?
  • How does a company monitor its assets and financials?
  • How is a sales contract formed—and what can go wrong in the process?

In the qualification phase, you’ll address questions such as:

  • What needs to be considered when launching a new product? (Marketing)
  • How does a company ensure the availability of necessary materials without overspending? (Procurement and Materials Management)
  • How is the production process organized? (Production Management)
  • Where does the company obtain funding, and how is it invested? What needs to be considered? (Finance and Investment)

To complement theoretical knowledge, we engage directly with the world of work through real-world experiences. In recent years, this has included:

  • A guided tour of the Holsten Brewery’s production facilities in Hamburg
  • A visit to Budnikowsky’s high-bay warehouse in Allermöhe
  • A factory tour at Mercedes-Benz in Bremen
  • And many more hands-on experiences.

In addition, classroom learning emphasizes the practical application of acquired knowledge. In the first semester, for instance, we carry out a marketing project in which students work collaboratively in small groups to develop a comprehensive concept for marketing a product they have designed themselves.
