Unique in Hamburg: Bilingual Abitur in Business and Economics
At our school, you have the opportunity to take Business Administration and Economics classes in English and, accordingly, sit your Abitur exams in these subjects in English as well. This means you will receive a total of 12 lessons per week taught in English. If you’re aiming for an international career, the bilingual Abitur—combined with your excellent command of English—will provide you with an ideal foundation.

Marketing is not only advertising but a variety of instruments used to sell products successfully. How a business can work profitably over many years will be the core question dealt with within the four semesters of Business Studies.

- Accounting/Costing (Kostenrechnung)
- Financing & Investment (Finanzierung & Investition)
Accounting – Why does kik manufacture goods in Bangladesh? Why does Adidas employ workers in Latin America?
Companies try to use the most efficient cost structure to make a big profit! In Accounting, we’ll look at different situations and real case studies with regard to cost accounting.

Economics – Was Keynes right to say that markets require government intervention? To what extent should they operate freely?
These are only two among various controversial and exciting questions to be discussed in the context of recent economic developments such as the financial or euro crisis.

When does BILI (bilingual course) start?
Year 11 – Get started in Business
Right from the beginning of Year 11, you’ll dive into the world of business – in English!
You’ll learn what a company actually is, how to start one, and what legal requirements entrepreneurs have to meet.
From basic economic principles to the foundations of running a business – this is your entry into the world of business thinking and bilingual learning.

Year 12 and 13 – Go all in
- 6 lessons: Business Studies and Accounting (BWL/Rechnungswesen) + Seminar
- 2 lessons/week: Economics (VWL)
- 4 lessons/week: English at advanced level (Englisch auf erhöhtem Niveau)
- That’s 12 lessons in English each week! You’ll get real-world skills and feel ready for the future.
