A visit with an International Preparation Class (IVK) to TINCON—the festival conference for youth culture and digital topics—offered the students a versatile, interactive, and language-enhancing experience.
The event featured experiences built around topics directly affecting young people, ranging from social media (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) and gaming to artificial intelligence, data privacy, and mental health. The class had the opportunity to see well-known influencers, podcasters, gaming pros, and journalists live, ask questions, and take selfies.
Hands-on stations and numerous interactive workshops covering topics such as podcast production, coding, making & robotics, pixel art, gaming, and video editing proved to be highly engaging.
The students applied their German in real-world everyday situations—asking questions at booths, trying out equipment, or interacting with peers from other schools. Experiencing this together outside the classroom brought the IVK class closer together, creating shared memories and meaningful topics for conversation in their German lessons.
