As part of the Erasmus+ programme, we—Frauke Dunker and Torsten Schatz—travelled to Dublin and Galway to explore potential partnerships between our school, BS 11, and various business and language colleges in Ireland.

Our first stop was the German-Irish Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Dublin, which acts as a liaison between educational institutions and the colleges. There, we learned that the Chamber facilitates two- to three-week stays for students from around the world at a range of Irish business and language schools. The primary goal of attending one of these institutions is to obtain the internationally recognised “Kaufmann International Certificate” (KIC).

In addition, many of the colleges offer a variety of professional development programmes for teachers.

We then visited several colleges in both Dublin and Galway that provide such opportunities. The mutual interest in future collaboration was encouraging and substantial.

The following photos offer a glimpse into some of the institutions we visited.
