Dual Plus Advanced Technical College Entrance Qualification (Fachhochschulreife)
The Vocational School St. Pauli offers its apprentices the opportunity to earn the Advanced Technical College Entrance Qualification (Fachhochschulreife) concurrently with their vocational training.
Through Dual Plus, you will graduate at the end of your apprenticeship with two fully recognized qualifications:
A completed vocational qualification plus the Advanced Technical College Entrance Qualification (FHR).
This means you won’t need to invest an additional year after your apprenticeship to obtain the Fachhochschulreife. To achieve this, you will attend supplementary classes alongside your regular vocational training and part-time vocational school. Importantly, this does not extend the duration of your apprenticeship.
At the end of your training period, you will sit for two examinations:
- The final examination in your chosen occupation
- And an examination for the general Fachhochschulreife
To qualify for the Dual Plus program, you must have:
An intermediate school-leaving certificate (mittlerer Bildungsabschluss) with an average grade of 3.0 or better in German, English, and Mathematics, Or eligibility for the introductory phase of the upper level of a Gymnasium (i.e. pre-university secondary school).
