Combine Vocational Training and Academic Studies!

In collaboration with the Berufliche Hochschule Hamburg (BHH), we have been offering an innovative educational program since 2021:

Apprenticeship as a Bank Clerk plus a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration

This integrated program combines vocational training as a bank clerk with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BWL). Participants gain qualifications for a wide range of responsibilities across all business areas of financial institutions. Core subjects include modules such as financial and investment products as well as credit operations.

Two Qualifications in Just Four Years

While school leavers with an (advanced) secondary school diploma typically choose between vocational training or academic studies, our joint program with BHH allows for both pathways to be pursued simultaneously. Learners obtain two qualifications within just four years: a vocational qualification and a Bachelor’s degree.

The study-integrated apprenticeship (siA) offers the best of three worlds: hands-on practical skills acquired in the training company, comprehensive occupational knowledge taught in vocational school, and academic expertise combined with research methodology at university level. The integrated structure minimizes redundancy and enables a manageable workload based on a traditional five-day week. Another clear benefit: no tuition fees—trainees receive a salary from day one.

Educational Pathway Coaching

Your personalized coaching offer as part of the study-integrated apprenticeship (siA).

We conduct two mandatory coaching sessions and, over the first 18 months, provide optional reflection sessions and individual consultations as needed — all with dedicated coaches. These sessions are tailored to your personal goals and questions, such as:

• Which educational pathway is right for me?
• How can I apply my strengths effectively within the siA?
• How can I reflect on my own learning experiences?
• Who can I turn to with further questions or concerns?

How Can I Apply?

If you’re interested in a study-integrated apprenticeship, you do not apply directly to the BHH, but rather to a company that partners with the university. A general higher education entrance qualification—such as the Abitur or Fachabitur—is required. The company selects a suitable candidate and enters into both a training contract and a study agreement with the prospective talent.The programs are not subject to admission restrictions, meaning there is no numerus clausus (NC).
