Electronic Data Processing (EDP)
At the St. Pauli Vocational Grammar School, you will be systematically prepared for your future career. A key component of this preparation takes place in the EDP (Electronic Data Processing) course during 11th grade (introductory phase).
Whether you pursue vocational training or academic studies after graduating—what you learn in this class will prove useful!
Over the course of two weekly lessons, you will learn:
- How to efficiently search for information online, assess its accuracy, and—most importantly—how to incorporate it appropriately into your own work (e.g. in presentations) and cite it correctly according to academic standards.
- What risks exist on the internet and how to protect yourself against them.
- How to create job applications, formal business letters, and especially longer written documents (e.g. term papers) using modern word processing tools (e.g. MS Word), and how to format them professionally.
- How to design professional-looking presentations using digital media (especially MS PowerPoint and Prezi) and what to consider when doing so.
- How to use spreadsheet software (e.g. MS Excel) to simplify and manage both personal and business-related tasks.
Depending on your prior knowledge, you will be challenged with assignments of varying levels of difficulty.ausfordern!
